In recognition of World Down Syndrome Day, Phoenicia University invited children from LWAH to spend a fun and eventful day at its campus. Our special guests were excited to take part in a number of activities that involved dancing, singing, and playing games.
Moreover, and since March 21st also marks Mother’s Day, a number of the children’s mothers joined as well. The mothers shared their stories and experiences regarding raising a child with special needs. Their statements were indicative of how loving, selfless, and patient they are to be able to overcome a number of challenges and to provide their children with the care and support they need.
Students, instructors, and staff members were keen to praise the mothers' efforts and to celebrate the children’s uniqueness, and – more importantly – to make them feel right at home.
