Phoenicia University Wins First Place in Lebanon’s Largest University CTF Competition

In a remarkable achievement for Lebanon’s tech and cybersecurity education landscape, Phoenicia University (PU) secured 1st place in the largest university-level Capture the Flag (CTF) cybersecurity competition held in Lebanon.

Organized by Semicolon Academy, the Lebanese Universities CTF brought together over 1,200 participants and 260 teams from more than 30 universities. Amid intense competition, the PU team emerged as the national champion, claiming the grand prize of $10,000.

Team members Nour Harajli, Ahmad Alayan, and Hussein Hamze demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, scoring a total of 1,075 points, with Ahmad Alayan alone contributing an impressive 750 points.

This achievement reflects Phoenicia University’s commitment to practical, high-impact learning in the fields of cybersecurity and computer science, and affirms its students’ position at the forefront of national innovation.

PU extends its appreciation to all participating teams and congratulates the “TTA” team from USEK and the “Pwned” team from AUB for securing second and third places, respectively. PU looks forward to more milestones that reflect Lebanon’s growing talent in cybersecurity and technology.
