Diplomacy and International Representation: A Student-Led Interview with Ambassador Rami Mortada at Phoenicia University

Phoenicia University hosted an educational, student-led interview with Ambassador Rami Mortada, former Lebanese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, providing an opportunity to explore diplomacy, international affairs, and global representation. To extend the learning experience beyond the classroom, the event could be presented as a free educational opportunity open to students, faculty, staff, and members of the wider community.

Conducted by a Communication and Social Media student, the interview created a platform for meaningful dialogue between students and an experienced diplomat. Drawing on nearly three decades of professional experience, Ambassador Mortada shared insights into diplomacy, foreign policy, mediation, negotiation, public outreach, and the evolving challenges of international representation.

The discussion connected academic learning with real-world diplomatic practice, encouraging participants to develop a deeper understanding of international relations and the responsibilities of diplomatic service. By making knowledge and professional experience accessible to the wider community, the initiative supported public awareness, knowledge sharing, and lifelong learning in global affairs.
