Dr. Kamel Bou Hamdan Co-Authors Study on Green Materials in Oil Recovery

During his time at Phoenicia University, Dr. Kamel Bou Hamdan co-authored the paper “Advancements in Green Materials for Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery: A Review” (Petroleum, Vol. 11, No. 3, 2025). The publication presents a comprehensive review of recent studies on the use of environmentally friendly, or “green,” materials in chemical enhanced oil recovery (CEOR).

The review compares the performance of green alternatives with conventional synthetic chemicals, analyzes their cost-effectiveness and environmental footprint, examines existing limitations, identifies opportunities for improving displacement efficiency, and highlights the challenges associated with adopting sustainable materials at scale in EOR applications.
