Phoenicia University Selected to Join the EUSEEDS Project
Phoenicia University has been selected to participate in EUSEEDS, a major regional project co-funded by the EU under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, aimed at enhancing youth employability, entrepreneurship, and digital skills across the Eastern Mediterranean. The university was selected among 24 universities from a large pool of regional applicants, following a highly competitive selection process led by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
As part of the EUSEEDS project, Phoenicia University will establish a dedicated EUSEEDS Employability & Entrepreneurship Center on campus. The center will equip students and community members with essential skills for employment and venture creation, while strengthening collaboration with 23 partner universities across the region.
Phoenicia University’s selection followed a rigorous evaluation process. The university submitted a comprehensive application highlighting its ongoing efforts in employability, entrepreneurship, digital skills development, and community engagement in South Lebanon. PU was shortlisted and invited to the interview stage, where it presented its mission, existing student and entrepreneurship support structures, and its approach to aligning education with labor market needs.
This achievement reinforces Phoenicia University’s commitment to practical and inclusive education, and to initiatives that support youth empowerment, skills development, and community-focused growth.
Overview of the EUSEEDS Project:
The EUSEEDS project addresses the challenge of youth unemployment in the region by bridging the gap between higher education and labor market needs. Through the establishment of 24 university-based centers, the project will train more than 7,000 students and recent graduates in digital competencies, soft skills, and entrepreneurship, while also providing digital literacy training to vulnerable community members. The project promotes inclusive, scalable, and sustainable solutions that contribute to economic resilience and social inclusion.
