Differently - Abled Friendly Campus

Welcome to our inclusive and differently-abled friendly campus at Phoenicia University, where we are committed to providing equal opportunities and an accessible environment for all members of our community.

Accessibility Across Campus:

At Phoenicia University, we take pride in our comprehensive approach to accessibility.

Our campus features a range of accessibility enhancements, including wheelchair ramp access, transportation options as well as accessible classrooms to facilitate a seamless educational journey. At PU we are dedicated to ensuring that our campus is easily navigable for individuals with varying abilities.

Community and Support:

We take pride in our vibrant and supportive community that values and respects the contributions of all members, regardless of their abilities. Through support networks and awareness campaigns, we invite differently-abled individuals to join our community, bring their unique talents to our campus, and embark on a journey of personal growth, success, and lasting connections.

Together, we celebrate the power of diversity and the potential within each individual.

Social Services:

Through its partnership with Lebanese Welfare Association for the Handicapped (LWAH), PU offers a support scheme for employees and students living with disabilities, providing access to essential rehabilitation and assistive services. The scheme is open to all members of the PU community in need, who may apply through a Patient Access Office and Social Services that reviews each case individually and determines the appropriate level of financial assistance based on the applicant's circumstances.
Through this scheme, PU supports access to:

  • Prosthetic and orthotic services — Custom-fitted prosthetic limbs and orthotic devices designed to restore mobility and support independent movement for individuals with physical disabilities.
  • Hearing aids — Assessment and provision of hearing aid devices to improve communication and quality of life for individuals with hearing impairments.
  • Physical therapy sessions, including access to a gym equipped with physiotherapy equipment that supports tailored rehabilitation and fitness activities, promoting physical health and mobility for the PU community.
  • Assistive and technical aids — Provision of mobility and daily-living aids, such as wheelchairs, walkers, and other technical devices, to support greater independence.
  • Speech therapy sessions — Individualized sessions to support communication, language development, and speech-related challenges.
  • Occupational therapy sessions — Therapeutic support to help individuals build or regain the skills needed for daily activities, promoting independence and functional ability.
