About the Program

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Public Health with Health Analytics and AI Concentration at Phoenicia University equips students with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary education, combining core principles of nutrition, health promotion, education, communication, and project management with hands-on training in health data science and artificial intelligence. Our curriculum prepares graduates to tackle local and global health challenges by teaching them not only how to design, implement, and evaluate public-health interventions, but also how to leverage statistical programming, machine learning, GIS, natural-language processing, and interactive dashboards within a framework of ethical data governance. This integrated approach lays the foundation for careers or advanced study in public health, health informatics, policy analysis, and other data-driven health professions.

Mission 

The Public Health Program at Phoenicia University prepares the next generation of public health professionals to promote health equity, improve health outcomes, and address health challenges in Lebanon and beyond through integrating core public health practice with hands-on training in health analytics and AI. 

 

Program Educational Objectives

• PEO1. Providing students with a comprehensive understanding of social, environmental, and behavioral determinants, alongside practical skills in data science and AI, to assess and address public health challenges.

• PEO2. Developing critical, data-driven problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex public health issues locally, regionally, and globally. 

• PEO3. Building competencies in ethical research methods, combining biostatistics and AI-driven analysis, to generate and communicate rigorous findings that inform health policy and practice. 

• PEO4. Offering experiential learning and collaborative projects that foster interdisciplinary teamwork, leadership, and the translation of data insights into real-world public health solutions. 

 

Student Outcomes

• SO1. Describe and analyze complex public health challenges by applying evidence-based approaches and advanced analytics to develop targeted, data-driven solutions.

• SO2. Communicate technical and public-health insights clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences using written documents, interactive dashboards, and visualizations.

• SO3. Design, conduct, and disseminate rigorous, AI-infused public-health research and critically evaluate interventions to inform policy and practice. 

• SO4. Lead and contribute in multidisciplinary teams of public-health and technology professionals to plan, implement, and evaluate innovative interventions.
